tight spaces

My husband and I live in a one-bedroom apartment. And I will be the first one to admit that it often feels a little cramped. I would like nothing more than to live in a two or three bedroom, with an office all to myself and room to spread out.

But at the end of the day, the occasional cramped feeling is worth far more than the extra $400 a month it would cost for a larger apartment. Think about it - $400 x 12 months = $4,800. HOLY COW – that’s a lot of money saved. That’s a used car or a trip to Europe or a heck of a lot of shoes. And thinking about the not-so-far-off payoff makes the small apartment a lot easier to handle.

Takeaway: A big lesson in living large on less – sometimes it requires sacrifices, but by making the tough choices now, you’ll yield huge rewards later.

Total Yearly Savings: As much as $4,800 (or more!).
