Hi dear friends.
My beloved Canon powershot, which faithfully served me from through my senior year of college until now, has finally decided to die. I wish it safe travels to camera heaven.
In good news, the husband finally convinced me to purchase the SLR I’ve been craving and saving for since Decemeber. Thank you husband! It is supposed to arrive any day, and I feel like a little girl waiting for Christmas!
But before our camera say adieu, I managed to take one final mannequin monday shot. Here it is:

I found this sweet Banana Republic dress at Alexis Suitcase (where else?) during their last tag sale, so it was practically free. (Seriously, the sales are that good.) I love the classic navy contrasted with the fun tropical print. While I am not a “loud print” kind of gal, it’s just subdued enough to make it wearable. I think it will be perfect for summer date nights with the husband.

The mannequin wasn’t feeling well today, so I gave her a sick day. =)
Today I’m featuring my beloved Kenneth Cole large patent tote. The story of this purse, like so many others, is quite a saving money miracle!
I first saw the purse in Macy’s and I loved it. I’d been looking for a laptop tote (which in my definition is a purse that doesn’t resemble any laptop case, but will still fit my beloved MacBook pro) since, well, forever. I knew this was it the moment I saw it. Everything about it was scrumptious. The color. The material. The very funky, but understated details. Yummy. And to my delight, it was it was in the clearance section, so I figured I was in for a treat.
Um yeah, on clearance for a whopping $190.98 (original retail price $358). Ouch. I sighed and put it back on the shelf, so sad to not be taking it home with me.
A few months later, I was still searching for something, anything, to carry my laptop. One chilly Saturday afternoon, I wandered into Finders Keepers Boutique with my mom . . . and there it was. The same purse. Now only $55.00. I was overwhelmed with joy and shock (the lovely consignor had even been thoughtful enough to include the dust bag!).
The moral of the story is that good things come to those who wait.
And by good things, I mean *pretty purses* of course.
