I love fall clothes. I really, really do.
Delicious coats. Mmm, I luuuvvvv coats.
It’s tempting to run out when each new season begins and spend, spend, spend. But before you do – take a good, long look at what you already have.
I call it – “shopping the closet.” Go through every drawer, every box, every storage container and buy from what you already have (yep, that’ll cost you a grand total of . . . nothing). Take the few hours you would have spent at the mall and try on some new outfits you’d never considered before. You never know what new combinations you may find. “I love these brown boots with this skirt! Yummy!”
Takeaway: Before you hit the mall to stock up on some new fall essentials, try to find among the clothes you already own. Go on, shop the closet.
Total Yearly Savings: A brand new wardrobe each season can get mighty expensive. You’re looking at a savings of well over $800 a year.
